– He also mentions that R. Yosef Cairo did not include laws of teshuvah/repentance in his codification of Jewish law, nor did anyone else aside from the Rambam/Maimonides.

– The Rambam/Maimonides makes some very striking statements in Hilchot Teshuvah/Laws of Repentance that you will understand by listening to this class.

– He discusses Bechirat Chofsheet/ Free Will, according to the Rambam/Maimonides in chapter 7 of Hilchot Teshuvah/Laws of Repentance.

– Rambam/Maimonides has 3 categories of statements that has to do with the mind – 1. Pure Faith/Dogma , 2. Inferential Knowledge/Where there is smoke, their is fire., 3. Absolute Knowledge.

– In Chapter 8 the Rambam/Maimonides discuss’s that Olam Habah is a spiritual resurrection, but no physical resurrection. In addition, he says their is no physical torment/punishment or eternal Gehinam/Hell. The good will merit this great wonderful pleasure and be in his goodness. On the other hand, the punishment for evil is that they will not have this great wonderful joy and will be cutoff and die. The Rabbi brings up the detractors of the Rambam’s statements, which you will hear.
